The heartbeat of tourism is felt throughout the communities of Hamilton, Halton and Brant, Six Nations of the Grand River Territory, and the Mississauga of the Credit First Nation. As Hamilton Halton Brant’s Regional Tourism Organization, our role is to help that heartbeat grow even stronger.

With the financial support of Ontario’s Ministry of Heritage, Sports, Tourism and Cultural Industries, our non-profit organization works to increase tourism visitation, economic activity, and job growth throughout Hamilton Halton Brant. These efforts are guided by our vision of developing our region into a distinct, appealing travel destination that provides incremental business growth for the tourism operators located here.

Vision Requires Focus
In working toward achieving our vision to have our region recognized as a distinct travel destination, HHBRTA focuses on two overarching development opportunities:

  • Leveraging access to tourists travelling between Toronto and Niagara Falls, Ontario’s two primary travel destinations, and ensuring marketing and industry efforts help this audience understand our region’s signature offerings
  • Establishing the region’s tourism industry as a significant economic driver for our communities

HHBRTA is an innovative industry partnership committed to collaborative development initiatives that establish the region as a compelling tourism destination through:

  • Developing experiences/products and marketing authentic and diverse tourist experiences that generate increased day and overnight visitations and revenues
  • Increasing industry capacities, revenues, and viability
  • Building recognition of tourism as a significant regional economic driver and employment generator based on performance measures
  • Investing in and providing educational initiatives to further develop expertise within our tourism industry

HHBRTA activities work toward achieving three overarching goals:

  • Increasing the proportion of overnight visitors
  • Increasing the number of same-day visitors
  • Increasing the yield per visitor
