Six Nations & Mississaugas of the New Credit

Nestled near the mouth of the Grand River are the historic and culturally rich communities of the Six Nations of the Grand River and the Mississaugas of the New Credit. The Grand River marked the centre of the Six Nations settlement in 1784 when the Haudenosaunee and Britain negotiated a portion of their traditional beaver hunting grounds consisting of six miles on either side of the Ouse or Grand River, from its mouth to its source for the Six Nations.

When you visit, a community that loves to laugh, live and enjoy the gifts of our Mother Earth greets you. Six Nations of the Grand River Territory has a variety of experiences unmatched by any other community throughout the nation, offering a place for fun and relaxation, a place to discover unique culture, beautiful natural areas, visual arts, literature and performing arts.
